Contraction de « Sound of Korea », Sorea est une formation féminine basée à Séoul. A l’image du pays évoluant sans complexes entre traditions multiséculaires et modernité audacieuse, le groupe téléscope musique populaire coréenne et funk, pop, rock, rap ou house…en utilisant des instruments traditionnels amplifiés.

Une mixture déroutante et originale, qui fait mouche. Le groupe affiche une maîtrise parfaite des instruments utilisés, et son univers, où affleure le second degré, affiche un exotisme décalé des plus séduisants.

Sorea a déjà joué dans de nombreux pays (Allemagne, Royaume Uni, Japon, Chine, etc.) et le groupe a été repéré au MIDEM de Cannes en 2006. Ambiance assurée avec ces ambassadrices de charme des musiques actuelles coréennes, pour un concert exclusif en Europe dans le cadre de Champs Libres.

| Short for “Sound of Korea”, Sorea is an all-female band based in Seoul. Like the country which naturally merges long-inherited traditions with an audacious modernity, the band blends Korean folk music and funk, pop, rock, rap or house … amplifying traditional instruments. This original and puzzling mix pays off. The band skillfully masters the instruments and its subtly ironic universe reveals a captivating off-beat exoticism. Sorea has already played in numerous countries (Germany, the UK, Japan, China, etc) and was discovered in Cannes during the MIDEM -the world’s music market- in 2006. Lively atmosphere guaranteed with these charming ambassadors for contemporary Korean music who will be performing their sole European concert for the Champs Libres festival. |
